"Beautiful Boy"

  Beautiful Boy is a film much like my post before last about We Need to Talk about Kevin.  The story is about a boy who shoots up his school and the parents are dealing with it.  This film is more dramatic and serious (just based on the articles I read) than We Need to Talk about Kevin, the boy shoots himself after he kills students in his freshman year in college so his parents have to deal with loosing a child as well as the guilt of the students he killed.  I would go see this film, but I don't know why.  It just seems like a must see.

3D Erotica near you!

You have got to be kidding me, right?  I thought porn was for personal entertainment.  Next we will have school circle jerks, haha.  Whatever your personal preference is, soon you can probably watch Sex and Zen 3D: Extreme Ecstasy in an American theater!  Sex and Zen 3D: Extreme Ecstasy made a powerful impact in the Hong Kong box office, outgrossing the opening-day numbers from James Cameron’s “Avatar” and “Titanic.”  So the way that AMC is seeing it probably is that, people like erotica, and people will pay for it, so why not do it?  I'm not for watching things like this, but whatevss.  If you want to read more just click on the picture below.

We Need To Talk About Kevin

  We need to talk about Kevin is a film that will be released sometime in September.  This film is highly anticipated by allot of people.  This film is based off of the award winning novel by Lionel Shriver.  The film is about the mother of a teenage boy who went on a high-school killing spree, throughout the film Eva (Tilda Swinton) is dealing with the guilt she has for what Kevin (Ezra Miller) has done.  She tries to cope by talking to her husband Franklin (John C. Rilley.)  I am looking forward to this film, I don't know why, but it seems good.

 

Student Academy Winners

The academy announced the winners of their 38th Annual Student Academy Awards competition.  Twelve out of the fifteen winners are from the U.S., the ceremony is on June 11th.  I don't really know what to say about this, but I didn't even know that they have student academy awards so that is interesting.  Here is a list of the winners and the titles of their films:

Miramax on Netflix.

Starting in June Netflix viewers will be able to see Miramax films for the first time on Netflix.  Through Netflix and Miramax's new partnership the Netflix library will gain films which collectively have 284 Academy Award nominations, across 83 films, with 68 wins, sweeeeeet.  Some of the films that they will be gaining will be Kill Bill, Scream, Pulp Fiction, Bad Santa and Goodwill Hunting.  I don't have Netflix but I would be thrilled if I ever got it.  Sounds wonderful.  I didn't even know that the Netflix library doesn't include those films, but right on.

Midnight in Paris

I personally have never seen a Woody Allen film, I actually don't know who he is.
I know the name... anyway I don't think that matters.  Owen Wilson is the star of the
film Midnight in Paris, he plays Gil the loner husband.  This is a classic Woody Allen film I guess, with
romantically confused, neurotic main characters and trips to other countries.  I wouldn't mind going
to see this movie, it doesn't seem too independent, but I like idea of cameos dedicated to
Salvidor Dali, Ernest Hemingway and a party themed in the roaring 20's!  IndieWire rates
this movie as a B, so hopefully it will do well in the movie world. 

Will Ferrel is getting serious.

Will Ferrel's new film Everything Must Go is him countering everything he has done as an actor before.  This story is about him coming home one day to find all of his things in the lawn and his wife wanting him out of her life.  It seems fitting for punchlines to come easy for this film, but I guess that this isn't a punchline-lets have fun-easy going film.  His neighbors help him get rid of all of his things and move on in life. This film sounds interesting to me, but it also sounds depressing.  So I don't know if I want to go see it... but I might.

Top eight documentaries you should see.

Titles from Lotte Stoops’, Michael Galinsky and Suki Hawley, Igal Hecht, Laura Fairrie, Erika Hnikova, Mareille Klein and Julie Kreuzer, Valerie Gudenus and Heloisa Sartorato,  Linda Goldstein Knowlton, .  Gudenus and Sartorato have a very captivating film called "I am Jesus"  it follows three people claiming to be the second coming of the Christian Messiah.  Allot of these movies sound interesting, like the one from Lotte Stoops, "Grande Hotel" is about a hotel that used to be very famous luxury hotel that is now home to 2500 squatters.  If you want to see any of these films just look 'em up.  I don't think that these unique films would be hard to find.  If you want to read more about these films click on the picture below.

Moonrise Kingdom, Wes Anderson Returns!

  Focus Features International is releasing Wes Anderson's new film Moonrise Kingdom this month at Cannes International Film Festival.  Wes Anderson wrote the new version of Fantastic Mr. Fox inspired by Roald Dahl (one of my most favorite films!)  Wes wrote the screenplay for Moonrise Kingdom with Roman Coppola and some of the stars include Bruce Willis, Edward Norton and Bill Murray.  I can't wait for this film to hit the stores, Wes Anderson is one of my favorite writers/directors.  I would totally recommend his films for anyone who is quirky.  (:
